Under my umbrella

AAA! when the sun shines we'll shine forever, know I'll be here forever!
How does anyone not love the rain is a question that is quite frequently asked to me, as i hate the rain. There is quite a simple explanation for that in fact. In India or maybe at least in the places i have experienced the rain, it causes floods, water held up all over the roads and don't even get me started on the mush and garbage all over the place!!! Its crazy here when it rains, it can only be appreciated while sitting in a room with a blanket around you and a good book in your hands as this way your not getting wet! Walking on the roads is an absolute mess as as you walk the muck from the ground gets kicked by your shoes and ends up on your jeans, top, hands, bag whatever your wearing basically! As a kid sure i loved to play in the mud and make mud pies etc. But as you grow up to be going some where important only to land up there take a look in the mirror and realize that HEY I'm covered in muck!Driving on these roads (not that i drive) but the water sometimes stops the engines midway, the traffic is unmanageable and the cops dont want to be out on the streets themselves so accidents happen!
I want to go one place just to enjoy the rain without the slush just to see what all the fuss is about!

Sex in the city

Welcome to chennai city, tamil nadu India, population 4.2million(yup it's true). Now the world i live in here is slightly bigger than a fish bowl but still in something through which everyone keep's looking at you. Like many cities all over the world my city too has those men who seem to act as if they have never seen women before in their lives. As a woman i feel violated each time i walk the roads of my city, as it seems the gazes of every man seem to be centered on you. In a Bollywood movie which came out not too long ago was a line from a woman to a man when he was staring at her chest saying "they don't talk i do". In my opinion should be the cover of some book as it seems that most men seem to be staring in that vicinity. Its quite disheartning considering that not all men are like that, i hold allot of respect for many of my male counterparts but when such incidents occur the whole gender is ostracized sadly. Just the other day my four friends and i were walking to the mall which was ten minutes walk and in those ten minute it seemed as if we had stopped traffic as every man who was either walking, driving and riding had stopped to stare at us. All this when we were wearing our normal t-shirts and jeans, not even something revealing. Their stare's made me think i had some sign on my fore head saying "STOP AND LOOK".
If you ask me as this is never EVER going to stop in any part of the world women should start charging men to just glance their way. As soon as we reached the mall one of my friends Prerna actually turned to me and another friend  Shikha and said "did you see how we had somehow stopped traffic". Now the roads are bad, but the malls!!! Dear god we might as well wear bed sheets and walk around as boys and men alike walk around in groups of five to six and station themselves all over the mall stand there and stare at whomever walk by. And the one thing you notice apart from the fact that none of them look good is that they all have their phone's out. Quite often you find that even when you stare such individuals back in the eye they just don't back off. For reasons like this most girls hate to get out of the house. Though Chennai is much better of than the rest of the country i have realised that with men like this not even god can help us.
The best part about this is that it doesn't stop with the men, the women are THE BEST, you could be walking past them in a perfectly fine shirt and jeans while they would be wearing something which looks like it has recently been through the shredder and spit out then cut up with a pair of scissors along with HIIIIGH heels which have the BIGGEST gem stones stuck on to them and carrying bags which carry the tag of the prestigious brand DOLGE DOLGE(nope i dint mess up the spelling, this is the latest brand to carry =D), and they stare at you giving you the one over with a look in their eyes saying where did you come from. Its actually quite hilarious. Atleast you can laugh at the women, however with the men you start coming up with plans on how to brainwash the whole gender.

A peek

My last semester in my personal dungeon started today(college), anyone would think how can college be bad?yeah? Well you should visit mine, in India as popularly known boys and girls aren't grouped together much, at least the elder's try. So my college is such an attempt made so that only girl's may attend. And you can't exactly call my college an institution or even a campus as it is one building. Yes just ONE building and having gone to a co educational school all my life after three years in college somehow i am still facing culture shock. Now the reason why my dear beautiful college is a dungeon is cuz of my great professor's, let me introduce you to them. The first one let's call her Madam P, well Madam P has to teach us something known as Media culture and society, now Madam P is one of those who can talk non stop and while doing this can divert from the topic on such a HUGE tangent it's unbelievable and she has this baaad habit oh doing tch tch tchtchtch midway through anything.. needless to say i sleep through all her lecture's.
Next is a prof who teaches multimedia, well he come's to coll either drunk or hungover, its quite comical to walk into class to see the professor with a worse hangover than your own!! lol.. but this is one professor who provides unlimited entertainment for us all, whenever we wish to not have class ten of us together(my group of friends) get together and pester him into telling us stories rather than take class, his stories are for another time but in short he tells us about shamans in rural Kerala, to freezing of bodies so that cure's can be found..
Next specimen on board is actually quite a fabulous professor, one of the best or maybe even the best!!!and i say this with no sarcasm at all, he teaches Fine arts to my course and i have had the privilege of studying under him for various subjects he is quite the patron of the arts the only flaw with him is that if he sees you distracted when he is teaching he can pick on you mercilessly!! which is quite fun for those watching =)
Now for the jewel of the lot, is my dear esteemed principle!!! well can you imagine a toad?!?!? place it on the head of a human and voila!!!you have my principle.. she really is the best of the lot.. in a college so small she walks around with body guards as if one of us girls will whip out a .35 and shoot her in the head(tempting yes but no) she preaches on how it is good to get married and start a family instead of encouraging the girls to start career..!!!
Appalled i know!!! oh well 6 more months left, then i'm free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lost

Quite often we sit down and wonder where exactly our life is heading, surprisingly i never used to be one of those people who actually had to bother about their future i had my goals and achievements all set out for me, where i was going to be in ten years, what exactly it was that i wanted to study. somehow as a kid it wasn't that hard to figure out what i wanted, and where as every one around me was wondering whether it was a doctor, an actress, an engineer it was they wanted to be, i had it all figured out. My parent's couldn't have been prouder of me then, they still to date show off on how their daughter knew exactly what she wanted to do by the age of 7. No hesitations nothing, i just knew it. However as growing up i have realized hesitation's not always a bad thing. Quite often it help's us think twice.
Not saying that today i want to do something new or go in a new direction but whenever i think about what i want to do, they joy doesn't really flow through. Maybe i need a couple of more year's to feel it or maybe that joy isn't enough for me. Today i am in that point of life where i have forgotten to do alot of thing's that i enjoy so therefore i have decided that i will blog as i have always loved to write so maybe the joy i seek will come to me in some form. My life not as interesting as quite a number of people's but still a bit different.
Maybe this can help me bring my passion back. And teach me something along the way. Quite often we come across the things we love by accident, i'm hoping for such kind's of accidents =). As this being my first ever blog do excuse my jumping from one topic to another.
Cheers
